Welcome to my practice.

After a decade of working in Boston, MA I am delighted to open a private practice in my hometown of West Hartford, CT.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Connecticut. I received my undergraduate degree from Boston College and my doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient counseling services at Wellesley College and Harvard University, child/adolescent inpatient, eating disorder and substance abuse day treatment centers. I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in Cambridge, MA leading individual, group and family therapy sessions. For the past five years, I worked at Harvard University's Counseling and Mental Health Services where I enjoyed my roles as Coordinator of Eating Disorder Services, Director of Training and Supervisor of an undergraduate peer counseling group.

In my private practice I enjoy working with a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety, relationship issues, depression, loss, stress and life’s transitions. I have a special interest in how clients manage vulnerability through disordered eating and body image issues. When life becomes overwhelming many turn to controlling food and body as a protective strategy. With compassion and respect, I will help you understand your personal relationship with food. As your insight and self-awareness grow you will make the behavioral changes you desire while incorporating healthier coping skills.

I was trained eclectically and am comfortable using a variety of approaches depending on a client’s needs.

I pull from Relational and Psychodynamic Theory while incorporating CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems) and Mindfulness skills. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client, as well as the client's deepening relationship with the self, are the key healing elements in therapy. In my work, I value warmth, humor and connection. Through listening, curiosity and engagement, we will work together to uncover and explore the ways in which your past experiences continue to affect the way you think and feel today. We will seek to identify your strengths and we will challenge negative thought patterns and self-defeating beliefs and behaviors that leave you feeling stuck. As we understand, appreciate and heal these aspects, you will more freely be able to live the life you value. It is an honor to be part of the amazing process of compassionately witnessing a client's emotional growth.

I am available for consultation, supervision, trainings and presentations on a variety of topics.

At Harvard University I held a variety of roles including Director of Training, Coordinator of Eating Disorder Services and Supervisor to ECHO (an undergraduate peer counseling group). I found it incredibly fulfilling to supervise interns and undergraduates and lead trainings for my colleagues and the greater campus community.
